Last month for Children’s Mental Health Week, our Project Worker Emma launched our new Help Now Champions workshops. At Healing for the Heart, we believe it is essential to empower children’s autonomy and confidence by improving their emotional literacy. The workshop is designed to create a safe, nurturing and compassionate space where pupils can discuss mental health and learn quick, simple, practical activities that they can use to feel better.
35 children at Elmvale Primary School learned tools to support themselves and friends when they feel overwhelmed or anxious. We are very proud of all the young people who took part and very grateful to Miss Kennedy for inviting us to introduce our new program for pupils, and for organising a fantastic Children’s Mental Health Week at Elmvale Primary School. Miss Kennedy is a true champion for children’s and teachers’ mental health at Elmvale and working with her has been wonderful. We are excited to role this out to mores schools across Glasgow this year.
